III.LITERATURE AS A PLATFORM  IN EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE  DEVELOPMENT

Dickens believed that enriching people's life with knowledge and enjoyment for the arts was key to building a fair society and creating opportunities .Dickens 2012 is committed to following Dicken's educational mission by supporting learning activities around the world, from teachers' conferences and family workshops to creative writing competitions.

         WHY WE NEED LITERATURE?
1.Literature  offers the best way of teaching extensive reading skills.Non-literature reading programs, and specially programs for non-native speakers, focus on short passages.
2.Literature offers a way of linking the emotional with the intellectual. If students are to learn reading effectively, they have to remember significant turn sin plot, in the first instance, if those turns have emotional to the cognitive. When literature does what it should, though, it acts against the alienation of the emotional and the intellectual.

IV.MY OWN COMPOSITION
HAIKU POEM

The sky is so blue
The sun is so warm up high
I love the summer

I really like toast
It is yummy when its hot
Cold I like it must

Bears are kind to hearts
And then do big farts

Those who came before
shall forever be with us,
always remembered

Children learn from us.
Teach them about ancestors
Start a family tree!

Haiku softly sings
and a word picture is formed
A feast for the mind

Poetry and love
will fill your heart forever,or rip it to shreds!

Butterflies are cool
in the big huge,green forest.
They fly up so high!

Moths go flying by
They are very beautiful,
Fluttering around.

Ladybugs are red,
And have black spots on their wings.
Experts at flying.

A fat bee stings me,
If hurts very badly but,
I do not cry though.

The bee flies quickly
It turns around and stings me.
Then falls to the ground.

As the wind does blow
Accross the trees,I see the
Buds blooming in May.

I walk across sand
And find myself blistering
In the hot,hot heat

Falling to the ground
I watch a leaf settle down
In a bed of brown

It's cold- and  I wait
For someone to shelter me
And take me from here.

The beaches waves hit
Sounding of flooding water
Soothes aches all over

Silence around us
Our watcful eyes hear the world
Hands do the talking.

To be a leader
Our must first dream then act out,
fulfillment is yours

The wind is blowing,
It is blowing very hard
I dont like the wind

I love Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh loves to eat honey
Bees chase Winnie the Pooh

A broken tree cut
Brings no shade to the weary
Then what good is it?

Rain falls,seeds sprout
 Continues life from something
Small but strong,it grows.

Gracefully slither
He sneaks to the net untouched
With one swing he scores

Slash,push,crush,swipe skate
Big time effort for four hours
Game ends tied,zero-zero

Up on the tundra
You have one of two choices
Hockeyor....ummm...uhhh...

The winter is over
Spring is here hurray good cheer!
I am glad it's here!

I like spring water
It makes me feel good inside
It takes my breath away

Fall is almost here,
I like the colorful leaves,
Other like the fall too.

Leaves down everywhere
Differnt colors through the year
Fall is almost here!

Fall is leaves  falling
Eating crisp,crunchy apples
A warm fire burning.

Falls is leaves falling
Munching on sweet red apples
A warm fire burning

Snow falling slowly
Blanketing the trees and road
Silence and beauty

Branches stretching out
To grab the sunsetscolours
Night is approaching

White light shiningn through
Patterns along the blank wall
Brightening my day

Whitecaps on the bay:
A broken signboard banging
In the April wind.

An old silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond,
Splash! Silence again.

Over the wintry
forest,winds howl in rage
with no leaves to blow

We are but flyspecks
On that window pane of life
The window cleaner.

Chicken or the egg?
No egg,No chicken dummies
It's a no brainer!

Like medieval knigths
Armor clad,in fields battle
To reap victory
After summer's rain
God's promise is remembered
Glorious rainbow

People united
To secure their liberty
Out of many,one

Patrick of England
Preserving Erin's blood line
Prove out the serpents

Fighting for freedom
Fall of a variant soldier
Resting in the lord

My sheep hear My voice'
Christ did say; and I know then
and they follow me'

Green grass in April
Birds begin to sing in trees
Children playing outside

Frogs jumping around
Frogs hopping away from snakes
Frogs doing cooltricks

Birds chirping a lot
People singing all the time
Birds are going south!
Birds and Bee's flying
Soft blades of grass on my feet
New flowers blooming

     'SHORT STORY'
                                                                The Quarrel
                                                        by Andres Cristobal Cruz

With half-shut eyes he tried in his mind, to make out other things of the objects in the still dim room. His shirt, for instance, hanging from a nail of the post between the bed and small altar of the Sagrada Familia, appeared, against the unmoving faint light of the oil wick, like a man’s severed body, armless in the dark, headless against the blackwood, and like the cellutex curtain drawn to side against the wall seemed cold and mute, as if driven there by the whole night’s darkness which would soon leave, allowing light outside to comment, through the blind eyes of their only window where sashpanes were missing, here and there upon the narrow room, defining in straight rays the reality of the things he had made out –– the still golden finger that was the oil lamp-wick which now looked more like a tiny slit of light, or a small bright leaf of light in the huge wall of darkness, the incomplete form of a man that was his shirt where it should not be, had it been noticed by Nina, on the nail –– all of these the outside light would slowly reintegrate into what they really were.
He heard the first trip dragging itself in the distance, leaving three tortured shrill whistle blasts and the irregular rumbling of iron-wheels to echo in whose consciousness lay listening, echo less and less until what had been one should became only a vague thought, as it was now with him as he turned on his side, getting under the mosquito net to lie beside Nina, his wife. She had her back to him; he had shaken her when she shriek in the nightmare, and since then he had not slept again. He pulled her lovingly by the shoulder, his hand passing over her breast as she turned, still asleep. Had the child lived, that was six months, seven? He tried to remember, had it lived, she would be cradling it now. She moaned, called: Ismael, Nina, he whispered; she yawned after a while, meeting him under the tightening sheet as they pressed the coldness.
